Through him sharing what he knows to the public and creating an influencer of himself the amount of people who gained trust in him and support him will likely increase his chances of gaining the position as Attorney General of Capital Hill in the 2024 election season. 1. I think people appreciate Rep. Jackson's Tiktok because he utilizes it similar to that of watchdog journalism. He tells people what they should know about what's going on in Congress, and even though he is subjective, he puts the information out in such a way that viewers appreciate. It's more intimate than watching it on the news, and people just don't expect to be getting the news from a Congressman. Even if all politicians were to utilize Tiktok in the way you suggest, not many politicians will be able to gather the following Rep. Jackson has because of his raw and organic nature. He is very open with his finances on Tiktok, ensuring viewers that he is no better than someone not in office.

  2. It is immediately apparent that politicians will continue to embrace various social media platforms, including TikTok, to reach their constituents. In fact, social media has the ability to expand their reach and garner new constituents. The specific issue with TikTok is that it was initially marketed as a domestic threat despite its popularity. Although TikTok is a great tool to use with campaigning, it has its limitations. For example, there is no way to know whether "followers" on TikTok are within the voting district. Sometimes popularity may increase likes and followers from outsiders. Nonetheless, TikTok is a great gadget for politicians to add to the plethora of tools in the kit.

  3. I actually was going to write about the same thing on my post. One of the things that makes Rep. Jackson's TikTok so powerful is his relatability. He sates often how he wants to be has real with one as possible without crossing the line or putting his job on the line. The information that he gives is such an insight for those who don't understand a lot of what is going on. His information makes others seem as if they have a direct contact which makes people like me want to invest in more.
